1111 KM - Von süss bis salzig
Synopsis:
The documentary follows water sports enthusiast Marc-Kevin Scholz on his record-breaking attempt to paddle the Rhine from kilometer zero to the North Sea on a stand-up paddle board. Along the way, Scholz encounters various challenges and has to face the resistance of nature in order to achieve his goal. The film is a self-financed project that was created with a preparation time of 10 days. The entire production was realized by a small, experienced team.
Director’s statement:
We were thrown into the project with a preparation time of just 10 days. We only knew roughly where Marc-Kevin would be driving and how many kilometers he had planned per day. Everything else we had to work out during production. As there were only two of us and most of the equipment was provided by the rental companies for free and usually only for a few days, we had to go home from time to time to return equipment and organize new ones. This project was the most beautiful, but also the most stressful and exhausting one I have been involved in so far.
